Rain smiled when Leon started running at her she eased up a bit on the gas just enough to let him grab the jeep with out his arm being ripped out of its socket. She looked over at him impressed when he grabbed onto the jeep most people would have just moved out of the way and not tried to jump on. She spotted the glare and smiled at him.

“You’re a big boy, start acting like one.” She yelled back slamming on the breaks and turning the wheel causing it to turn sharply she slammed on the gas as the car started to tip causing it to slam back down after Leon got in the car of course. The zombies that had been holding on were not flying through the air some where, Rain laughed and kept on going running over anything dead but not dead dead. She looked over at the kid he had a smile on his face.

Leon held tight onto the side of the door, while attempting to get his seatbelt on at same time. Rain’s reckless driving made him slightly worried until he could hear the laughing. He wasn’t sure if she was completely insane or just wanted to cheer the boy up. Leon looked over at her, hoping she would not destroy his baby Jeep. All the blood he would have to wash off later was one thing, but the damage she could have done.

He shook his head and looked back to the boy and kittens to check on them, before facing Rain. “Enough fooling around. We need to get them to safety.” Leon knew this was already going out of hand and really, he had no other choice, but to listen to Rain, hear where she was going. If there was any more survivors out there he needed to find them.

Rain looked back at the man in the back seat she just kinda glared at him.

“I’m not fooling around and I am getting them to safety.” She wanted so badly to say more to rip him a new one but the boy touched her arm.

Rain looked over at him and sighed, she looked back at the rode it would be a long drive. Rain drove a few blocks over and stopped in front of a red truck, she looked over at the kid and smiled.

“I will be right back okay, I gotta get my bag out of the truck okay.” She opening the door.

Rain grabbed her gun and did a sweep of the area around the truck before she opened the door, Rain crawled into the truck her butt and legs still hanging out of the door. She grabbed her bag that was heavy and full of everything she needed, her whole life and everything she owned was in that bag. Rain pulled the bag out and shut the truck door she wrote on the window with car marker.

‘This truck has gas and still runs, keys in the glove box’

She put the maker in her bag and ran back to the jeep, rain tossed her bag in the back with Leon shutting the door behind her then buckled up. She put the jeep into gear and started to long drive to Claire’s convoy.

Rain glared at the man what was he some sort of hero? She wanted to drag his dumb ass down the street with her but she was a grown man it he wanted to get eaten alive that was on him not Rain. She ducked down under his arm and popped up in front of his she unzipped his jacket and took the kitten then started running grabbing the kid as she passed him. Rain spotted the jeep and helped the kid in she gave him both kittens, she could see two zombies closing in on her she shut the door quietly and turned around pulling her knife out she slashed through the zombie’s throat then kicked the other one down she smashed its head. It burst like a ripe watermelon, thick jello like blood and a horrid stench. She ignored the urge to gag and ran around to the other side getting into the car. Rain started it up and slammed on the gas, the jeep jerked foreword toward Leon she honked at him still speeding down the road she didn’t intend to stop.

Leon was startled by Rain suddenly unzipping his jacket. He opened his mouth to say something, but didn’t question her once she grabbed the kitten and ran off. He shook his head and continued firing the bullets through the living dead. And just as Leon was about to fire another bullet, he heard the Jeep honking behind him. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Rain driving at full speed ahead. He gulped a bit, knowing that she probably wouldn’t stop at this rate. “She is gonna kill me-” he murmured and turned his back to the zombies, now facing the Jeep. As Leon began to sprint towards it, hoping he could grab onto the side of the car and stand on the foot pedal where the door was, he felt a rush through his body causing him to run faster. To his luck, just as the Jeep got to him, he jumped onto the foot pedal and hold tight onto the closed car door. Leon looked through the car window and glared at her. “You’re trying to get me killed?” he yelled through it and had to hold tighter onto the Jeep not to fall off. With a little struggle, Leon managed to get the door open and get inside, quickly closing it behind him as two zombies tried to grab onto the Jeep just like he had. “Bastards keeps getting smarter,” he sighed and tried to catch up with his breath.

Rain saw him watch her put the kitten away at first she was going yell at him thinking he was looking at her body but once he grabbed the other cat she calmed down. She looked at him in time to see his smile at her name she looked at him confused for a moment she was not sure why he was reacting so well to her, most men would be long gone. It was funny to her, she swore she’d never have kids and now look at her acting like a mother fighting with her Ex for the child. She shook it off and kept going Rain stopped once the man spoke about his Jeep, she took a deep breath remembering the last jeep she had been in. The jeep had belonged to a good friend of hers and she tried not to think about him anymore although he seemed to haunt her regardless. Rain had to put away her feeling about the jeep she nodded and followed him she felt the kid on her heels and it worried her that he was so scared, she took once glance back at him to be sure he was okay. Rain give him a reassuring smiled and he calmed a little. Rain picked up the pace as she spotted a hand full of zombies heading their way. She tapped the man’s shoulder and pointed at them she motioned to let them be and for them to stop dragging ass and run.

Leon looked over his shoulder and noticed the zombies Rain had pointed out. Knowing it was just a question of time before the dead walking flesh would reach them, Leon took out his car keys from his pocket of his jacket and gave them to her. “Just ahead, don’t look back and keep going. I will take care of these.”

He took aim at the first zombie running towards him and got a clear shot in the head. Now more zombies were paying attention to him, hopefully that would buy Rain some time. Leon took a few steps back to keep distance, but continued to take down the living dead one by one.

The boy was scared Rain could see it in his eyes she felt sadness wash over her, this kid would never be the same she let it show on her face how hurt she was by it but only for a moment then she went back to stern and strong. The kid looked rain in the eyes his were so wide still so shaken, he was pail and jumpy.

“Y-yes. I… I wa-want to be Safe.” He muttered.

Rain snapped back up she put the cat on her shoulder and grabbed the man’s hand as it came just a little closer to them she gripped it hard and glared into his face. She looked into his eyes deeply with her dark cold eyes and studied him for a moment. She shut her eyes and shook her head making a sound of displeasure she tossed his hand away from her, she looked gently at the kid and nodded. Rain glared back at the man.

“Fine, But just know this I don’t need your ass and I will leave you if I have to so you better be worth the trash your talking. I’m saving this kid and thats all I care about.”

Rain let the kid go and her lunged out for her grabbing onto her arm, Rain smiled down at him.

“Im just putting the cat away, I cant hold my gun, you and the cat all at the same time. Okay. I wont leave you.” She said trying to comfort him.

The boy let go and she grabbed the cat off her shoulder she zipped up her jacket and put it inside letting it head poke out a little. Rain grabbed her gun and took the boy’s hand with the other, she looked at the man.

“The name is Rain and thats all you need to know.” She said before walking out the door taking point.

Leon watched her putting the small kitten inside her jacket. Without hesitation Leon reached over to lift up the other one. “Don’t worry,” he began and did the same as her, making sure the small black kitten was safe inside his jacket. “As soon as everyone is safe, I’m leaving.”

He was slowly getting used to the way she was speaking to him. Leon wasn’t really used to women being in control of the situation; it wasn’t his ‘thing’. But somehow she didn’t bother him as much. She kept calm instead of screaming her head off. And she was good with a gun. Not something he would come across much lately.

“Rain?” Leon smiled a bit. “Suits you…” As they got outside a few groans could be heard from afar. Leon held out his gun and sighed a bit. “It’s best to leave. We don’t know how many there is out there…”

Letting out a deep breath, Leon pointed to the right. “I got a Jeep parked in that direction. I cleared the path from there so we should be safe.” Leon looked at her quickly and held the kitten on his chest closer with his left hand. “I will give you a lift if needed. Just give me the location.” Leon began to head towards the Jeep, making sure the road around them was safe enough.
